Platelet Rich Plasma

Platelet rich plasma treatments are also known as vampire facelifts and are a low-risk procedure that uses your own blood to revitalise your skin by boosting collagen, stimulating the body’s natural healing processes.

Platelet rich plasma treatment has two elements: plasma, the liquid portion of the blood, and platelets, which are important in healing processes throughout the body. Platelets trigger cell reproduction and stimulate regeneration in the treated area. Platelet rich plasma is essentially blood that contains high amounts of platelets. To create this, our dermatologist or skin specialist takes a blood sample and spins it in a centrifuge, separating the platelets from the rest of the blood, then concentrating them within the plasma. This is then injected into your face in order to increase the concentration of platelets, healing and rejuvenating your skin. This procedure is used for anti-ageing and skin replenishing, it is also used to treat scars, both old scars and new, post-surgery scars. The only common side effects of this treatment are small amounts of soreness and possible bruising at the sight of injection.
